Versatility is at the core of who I am as a musician. Years of exposure to different ensembles, repertoire, and musical ideas have shaped my belief that a musician should be able to play anything placed in front of them, and I hold myself to that standard. Music is often called a universal language, but that claim falls apart quickly upon closer inspection. Every tradition, genre, and individual piece carries its own vocabulary, logic, and expectations. True musicianship means being able to navigate those differences. This same philosophy carries into my teaching. I want to do more than deliver material by helping students discover their own musical identities. My goal is not to produce students by institutional definitions of success but to guide them toward understanding who they are and who they can become.
